5 Positive Habits, That Will Help you Increase Your Productivity

How to Increase Productivity

Tips and Tricks Based on My Personal Experience

Sometimes life gets in the way and stuff happens especially during the busiest times in my life. Sometimes my motivation slips as the stress builds and life seems like a nightmare. In times like these I tend to create bad habits which further affect my mood, energy, motivation and productivity.

At some point it gets so bad that I feel like i don’t have enough time to do my daily activities. I am always in a hurry, multitasking and nothing ever seems or feels good enough. I am so stressed that I also have a hard time falling asleep. Do you know these feelings? If you can relate keep reading to see which habits I changed to transform my life.

I Started Exercising and Smiling more often

I’ve mentioned exercising and smiling few times already in previous post, so I am going to outline few main pros (for those of you who haven’t read my previous posts) about exercises and smiling and how these habits transformed my life and how they can transform yours.

Basically, by smiling you trick your brain into thinking you are happy. It’s amazing, right? Also, by doing exercises you make your body produce more dopamine which is a hormone essential for your happiness.

I stopped keeping diets and started eating 4-5 times per day

I lost a lot of weight by doing this. What I found the hard way is that it’s not about how much you eat but what you eat. Once I was a top fan of junk food and when I was gaining a lot of weight I used to start keeping very strict diets. That was amazingly stupid of me and I strongly advice you to never do that. I not only gained a lot of weight but I was constantly feeling anxious and definitely not happy about my body.

I chose water over coffee

I found myself shaking all of the time due to the huge amount of coffee I used to consume every single day. I still have coffee but just once a day.
Instead of coffee I started drinking loads of water and I must say that the difference is huge.  Coffee is a stimulant and it affected my nervous system more than I thought. It affected not only my mental but also physical health. I got more anxious and also my hands were shaking all the time. I felt the difference  after about a week after changing this habit - the tremors stopped and I felt more relaxed.

I was going to bed with a clean kitchen

Doing the washing-up before bed is one of those steps beloved by cleaning and productivity experts and I must say that I find this very useful especially in the morning because I have more free time for myself. I used to leave the dishes and wash them in the morning, which I now consider as a huge mistake.

It saves me time because food washes off more easily before it dries. Also, I get this feeling of satisfaction when making my morning coffee in a clean kitchen. Another pro of cleaning the kitchen before going to bed is that my final nighty clean takes up less time because I already washed and put away the rest of the dishes the day before.

I created very strict bedtime routine

This is a crucial habit which will transform your life to a huge extend. Sleep is very important for our physical and mental health well being. It is essential for our brain and lack of it cause our brain to “eat” itself, literally. Please, check out more information in medical websites.

Few years ago, I had very bad insomnia. It was so bad that I couldn’t sleep for couple of days sometimes. So, what I did is I created very strict  bedtime routine.
Note: before doing that I started exercising a lot, otherwise I was not going to be able to fall asleep.

I started going to bed every night at 10 o’clock and was waking up at 8. I even set a reminder just in case if my miss my bed time. The first few days I was falling asleep at 12/01 am. but I was still waking up at 8 o’clock. I felt really tired during the day, but once when I got used to that routine I managed to fall asleep no later than 11pm.

What changed? I felt less anxious, a lot more motivated an productive and much more energetic. I also feel much happier and in the mood to do my daily activities.
